Acrostics

An acrostic poem is one where the first letters of the lines spell a word.

Dreams

Daffodils on rolling hills
Reaching up to grow
Evergreens in mountain scenes
Angels in the snow
Made with hope the spell will keep
Secret wishes in my sleep

Seagulls

Soaring over the moonlit sand
Each alone against the night
Are the watchers of the strand
Gliding smooth in timeless flight
Underneath the misty sky
Lifted by the salty breeze
Live the searchers of the seas
Sharing nothing but their cry

Intensity

I can't find words to tell you how I feel
Nor find the strength to doubt this vision's real
To see it end would cauterize my soul
Eternity without you leaves a hole
No other maid could ever take your place
Since always would I see you on her face
Inside you is a radiance so bright
That not a star could hope to match its light
You warm my heart and keep me from the night

Regret

Reaching out for something gone
Even though you know it's lost
Got to look up and go on
Rest your heart from memory's cost
Every time you shed a tear
Try to hope instead of fear

Dumped

Damn! you say, you've lost again
Used by someone thought a friend
Maybe it was for the best
Pain still aches in empty breast
Every time it feels so right
Demons steal away the light
